Computation of the singularities of parametric plane curves

چکیده
Given an algebraic plane curve C defined by a rational parametrization P(t), we present formulae for the computation of the degree of C, and the multiplicity of a point. Using the results presented in [Sendra, J.R., Winkler, F., 2001. Tracing index of rational curve parametrizations. Computer Aided Geometric Design 18 (8), 771–795], the formulae simply involve the computation of the degree of a rational function directly determined from P(t). Furthermore, we provide a method for computing the singularities of C and analyzing the non-ordinary ones without knowing its defining polynomial. This approach generalizes the results in [Abhyankar, S., 1990. Algebraic geometry for scientists and engineers. In: Mathematical Surveys and Monographs, vol. 35. Automatic parameterization of rational curves and surfaces III: Algebraic plane curves
We consider algorithms to compute the genus and rational parametric equations, for implicitly defined irreducible rational plane algebraic curves of arbitrary degree. Rational panuneterizations exist for all irreducible algebraic curves of genus O. The genus is compuled by a complete analysis of the singularities of plane algebraic curves, using affine quadratic transformations. The rational pa...
متن کاملNormal forms of Hopf Singularities: Focus Values Along with some Applications in Physics
This paper aims to introduce the original ideas of normal form theory and bifurcation analysis and control of small amplitude limit cycles in a non-technical terms so that it would be comprehensible to wide ranges of Persian speaking engineers and physicists. The history of normal form goes back to more than one hundreds ago, that is to the original ideas coming from Henry Poincare. This tool p...
متن کاملThe intersection problems of parametric curve and surfaces by means of matrix based implicit representations
In this paper, we introduce and study a new implicit representation of parametric curves and parametric surfaces . We show how these representations which we will call the matrix implied, establish a bridge between geometry and linear algebra, thus opening the possibility of a more robust digital processing. The contribution of this approach is discussed and illustrated on important issues of g...
متن کاملDegree Reduction of Disk Wang-Bézier Type Generalized Ball Curves
A disk Wang-Bézier type generalized Ball curve is a Wang-Bézier type generalized Ball curve whose control points are disks in a plane. It can be viewed as a parametric curve with error tolerances. In this paper, we discuss the problem of degree reduction of disk Wang-Bézier type generalized Ball curve, that is, bounding disk Wang-Bézier type generalized Ball curves with lower degree disk Wa...
متن کاملComputing the Abel map
A Riemann surface is associated with its Jacobian through the Abel map. Using a plane algebraic curve representation of the Riemann surface, we provide an algorithm for the numerical computation of the Abel map. Since our plane algebraic curves are of arbitrary degree and may have arbitrary singularities, the Abel map of any connected compact Riemann surface may be obtained in this way.
